What is a testimonial letter

Testimonial letter is a letter which is normally asked by potential clients as part of proof of work done to successful completion with past clients. These are a sort of reference which is given. The testimonial letter consists of a statement by the past clients who establish the credibility of the contractor, sub contractor or builder and it also allows them to avoid asking for permission so that their name and telephone number can be shared. In the testimonial letter the client needs to describe, what was the experience they had dealing with the builder, contractor or sub contractor, for whom the testimonial letter is being written for. It also needs to mention whether they received a satisfactory solution to their problem or their situation.

Testimonial letters are formal approval statements by a third party. It informs and affirms about the other person’s worth and it acts as a personal recommendation. It supports a claim, fact or the truth. It also is called a letter of endorsement.

A testimonial letter in order to be effective, needs to state that the objection is overcome or the problem has been solved, it defines what was before and what was the end in measurable terms, it adds details to personalize and make it feel real. Testimonial letters are written on the company letterhead and it should have the name and address as well as the location and it should preferably be written by the person who wants the testimonial and given to the client to just tweak it a bit.
